Arrive in Hà Giang at your own pace and check in to Four Points by Sheraton in the city centre — book your bus or private transfer with us and we'll drop you straight at the hotel door. A free private en-suite room is provided for the night before your tour starts — enjoy breakfast at the hotel — our team will pick you up at 8:30 AM to head to our office for a quick contract signing, and the tour officially starts at 9:00 AM.

Route, guides and vehicle are identical to the standard private tour. What changes is the grade of every place you sleep. Both include a free night in Ha Giang City before the loop and a private en-suite room throughout — on Luxury, every property is a clear step up:

• Before the loop: Sheraton Ha Giang — a premium hotel rather than a standard one
• On the loop: Amira Premium Lodge in Dong Van — hotels and boutique lodges in place of homestays

All prices are per person, based on a group of two:

• Easy Rider 7.300.000₫ — each of you gets your own licensed local rider. No licence needed.
• Self-Ride 7.100.000₫ — you ride yourselves, one bike each or sharing one bike; the price is the same either way. Requires a licence and IDP for whoever rides.
• Solo 10.900.000₫ — travelling alone, behind your own Easy Rider. Still a fully private tour with your own guide. No solo supplement on top.

You can mix types within your group — one rides, the other goes Easy Rider.

Only if you ride yourself. Self-ride requires a valid motorbike licence plus an International Driving Permit (1968 Vienna Convention, category A1 or A). The two are only valid together — riding without both voids your travel insurance, and no insurer pays out after an accident. Self-ride bikes are 125cc semi-automatic.

Choose Easy Rider and you need nothing at all — you sit behind a licensed local rider, hands free for photos.

The night before your tour, accommodation in Ha Giang City is included free of charge — at the room standard set by this tour. Arrive late from Hanoi, shower, sleep and have breakfast before you set off.

On the road you get a private en-suite room every night — never a dormitory, never shared with other travellers. Room type (one double bed or two singles) depends on availability on your dates; tell us your preference when you book.

Groups of three or more: to keep the per-person price low, we place guests in twin rooms wherever possible. An odd number shares a twin room with two large beds rather than paying for a single — so a group of three shares one twin, and a group of five takes one twin plus one twin.

Want a room entirely to yourself? Just tell us — we charge only the difference in room cost, nothing on top.

Ha Giang has no airport. You fly into Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi, then travel north by road — we can arrange that leg for you.

Our driver meets you at:

• Terminal T2 (international) — Column 1, Level 1, right outside Arrivals on the ground floor
• Terminal T1 (domestic) — Arrival Gate E1, at the domestic arrivals exit

The driver calls you before arriving — there is no name board, so keep your phone on. Allow 10–15 minutes after landing for immigration and baggage.

Yes — it is legally required for all international travellers on most of the Loop, including Lung Cu, Dong Van and the Ma Pi Leng pass. Riding without one risks a fine and being turned back at the checkpoint.

On this tour we arrange it in advance, free of charge. Send a photo of your passport via WhatsApp to +84 904 044 772 after booking — thirty seconds of your time, and we handle the rest.

After you submit a booking, we check real accommodation availability for your dates and send you a secure payment link — within 30 minutes between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM Vietnam time (GMT+7), or within 1–7 hours outside those hours.

A 30% deposit through that link confirms your booking. We accept OnePay (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB) and bank transfer, and we cover all card fees — the amount you see is the amount you pay, with no 3–4% surcharge.

The remaining 70% is due on arrival at our Ha Giang office, by cash, card or transfer — whichever suits you.

Leave it at the HagiangTrips office, free of charge. It stays locked up and waiting for you when the tour returns.

Bring a 20–30L daypack with what you need on the road: a change of clothes, toiletries, charger, and anything you want within reach. Everything else stays with us.

Carrying anything valuable? Tell us before you hand the bag over. Cash, passports, bank cards, jewellery, a laptop, camera or drone — we write it down and lock it in the office safe, separately from the luggage, and hand it back to you in person when you return. Anything valuable left loose inside a bag you did not declare is at your own risk.

Our Easy Riders are licensed locals, born and raised on these roads and trained for mountain conditions. Every tour includes travel insurance up to 200,000,000₫.

Gear is included free on every motorbike tour: an HJC helmet certified to ECE R22.06 — the current highest European standard — in both full-face and open-face, so you can choose what you are comfortable in. Plus a protective jacket, gloves, full-body raincoat and waterproof bags.

Rain is part of Ha Giang and rarely stops a tour — the guides simply adjust the pace and the stops. If conditions turn genuinely dangerous, such as a storm or a landslide, we do not ride. In that case you get a free date change, or a 100% refund with no deductions.

Honestly: almost certainly not on this trip — and we would rather tell you now than at a checkpoint.

The entire Ha Giang region sits inside restricted airspace on the Ministry of National Defence map. Not a few spots — the whole loop. And "restricted" does not mean fly carefully: both prohibited (red) and restricted (amber) zones require a flight permit from the Ministry of National Defence, applied for at least 7 days ahead under Decree 288/2025/NĐ-CP.

Two things make Ha Giang harder than anywhere else in Vietnam:

• Flights in border airspace also require notification to China under the land border agreement between the two countries
• Foreign visitors cannot apply alone — the law requires a Vietnamese organisation or individual to act as guarantor

"But mine is under 250g." There is an exemption — recreational drones under 0.25kg are exempt from the flight-permit requirement — but it applies only outside prohibited and restricted zones, and even then you must notify the local military or police beforehand. Ha Giang is inside a restricted zone, so the exemption does not help you here.

HagiangTrips does not apply for flight permits and does not act as guarantor. Our staff and guides have no authority to approve a flight and will ask you not to launch.

If you choose to fly without a valid permit, you do so entirely at your own risk and responsibility. Any fine, confiscation of equipment, or liability arising from it rests with you alone.
